All of the insects are real species — Mama is a ladybug, Papa is a daddy longlegs, and together they take their family through a perfelctly ordinary day in Bug City. Puns abound — the family sleeps in bedbugs, Papa works with carpenter ants, dinner is silverfish and asparagus beetles (a real species, I swear!). My kids love this imaginative peak into the life of a bug, and I love Ipcar's illustrations. It's a book we all enjoy reading over and over again.
