In this small, perfect story about four kittens born in a city alley, each one with wings, we follow Thelma, Roger, Harriet, and James flying out of the city toward the countryside — where they discover that the world beyond is beautiful and frightening. Le Guin brings the same quiet grace to this early chapter book that she brings to her great fantasy novels. The first in a series of four, for ages five and up.
