Norman the Doorman

Norman is a doorman. He is also a mouse. He lives in a small, well-hidden hole at the back of the Majestic Museum of Art, gives tours of its basement treasures to his fellow mice, and in his spare time makes sculptures from the mousetraps left by the sharp-eyed guard upstairs. This lesser-known classic by Don Freeman, the author of Corduroy, is one of my favorite stories. Paperback edition.
